Remove fake or duplicate Google Business Profiles and reclaim yours

Report and remove Google Maps content that breaks the platform's rules or the law, with evidence and follow-through.

The short answer

Fake listings using your name, duplicates that split your reviews, and profiles taken over by a former agency or employee all damage trust. Google provides routes to report fake and duplicate profiles and to request ownership of a profile someone else controls. We use them with the evidence Google needs, and help secure your profile afterwards.

Who this is for

  • People targeted by harmful Google Maps posts or accounts
  • Businesses facing false or abusive content on Google Maps
  • Anyone impersonated or exposed by a fake account

Who it is not for

  • Removing a genuine profile to hide reviews

Each route is assessed before anything is filed. Strength ratings are general indications; every case turns on its facts.

How the work runs

  1. Eligibility reviewWe test each URL against the relevant law and platform policy before anything is filed.
  2. Evidence packWe build the submission: identity, context, dates, policy clauses and supporting documents.
  3. Submission and follow-upRequests are filed, tracked and chased. Refusals are appealed where grounds exist.
  4. FallbackWhere removal is refused or unavailable, we move the case to search repair.

Evidence you will need

  • Links to the posts, comments or accounts
  • Screenshots with dates
  • Your genuine account details
  • Any messages linked to the content

What you receive

  • Evidence captured with dates
  • Reports filed through the correct platform routes
  • Escalation where reports stall
  • Repost and new-account watch
  • Search clean-up once content is removed

What we cannot promise

  • Google Maps decides what breaches its rules. We cannot remove content that complies with them.
  • Screenshots and copies can circulate after removal. We monitor and act on them where the same rules apply.
Legal boundary. Digital Repu coordinates removal casework and does not give legal advice. Where a legal route is needed, advice comes from regulated solicitors. See how we work with legal partners.

Frequently asked questions

Can I delete a negative profile about my business?

Not if it accurately represents your business. Real businesses cannot remove their profile to escape reviews.

Someone requested ownership of my profile. Is it a scam?

Unexpected ownership requests are a known scam tactic. Do not approve requests you do not recognise.

How long does reclaiming take?

Google's process includes a waiting period for the current owner to respond, then verification.

Will the person who posted it know it was me?

Platform reports are generally not shared with the poster, but some routes, such as copyright notices, can be. We explain this before filing.

Can you remove it from Google as well?

Yes. Once content is removed from the platform, we request removal of the outdated result from search.

Is my enquiry confidential?

Yes. You can make first contact without giving your name, we sign a non-disclosure agreement before you share case details, and case files are held in restricted, encrypted storage with access limited to your case team.
